Leviticus 15:3 (NET) New English Translation

1 The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron:

2 "Speak to the Israelites and tell them, 'When any man has a discharge from his body, his discharge is unclean.

3 Now this is his uncleanness in regard to his discharge— whether his body secretes his discharge or blocks his discharge, he is unclean. All the days that his body has a discharge or his body blocks his discharge, this is his uncleanness.

4 "'Any bed the man with a discharge lies on will be unclean, and any furniture he sits on will be unclean.

5 Anyone who touches his bed must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

6 The one who sits on the furniture the man with a discharge sits on must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

7 The one who touches the body of the man with a discharge must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

8 If the man with a discharge spits on a person who is ceremonially clean, that person must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

9 Any means of riding the man with a discharge rides on will be unclean.

10 Anyone who touches anything that was under him will be unclean until evening, and the one who carries those items must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

11 Anyone whom the man with the discharge touches without having rinsed his hands in water must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

12 A clay vessel which the man with the discharge touches must be broken, and any wooden utensil must be rinsed in water.

13 "'When the man with the discharge becomes clean from his discharge he is to count off for himself seven days for his purification, and he must wash his clothes, bathe in fresh water, and be clean.

14 Then on the eighth day he is to take for himself two turtledoves or two young pigeons, and he is to present himself before the LORD at the entrance of the Meeting Tent and give them to the priest,

15 and the priest is to make one of them a sin offering and the other a burnt offering. So the priest is to make atonement for him before the LORD for his discharge.

16 "'When a man has a seminal emission, he must bathe his whole body in water and be unclean until evening,

17 and he must wash in water any clothing or leather that has semen on it, and it will be unclean until evening.

18 When a man has sexual intercourse with a woman and there is a seminal emission, they must bathe in water and be unclean until evening.

19 "'When a woman has a discharge and her discharge is blood from her body, she is to be in her menstruation seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean until evening.

20 Anything she lies on during her menstruation will be unclean, and anything she sits on will be unclean.

21 Anyone who touches her bed must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

22 Anyone who touches any furniture she sits on must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

23 If there is something on the bed or on the furniture she sits on, when he touches it he will be unclean until evening,

24 and if a man actually has sexual intercourse with her so that her menstrual impurity touches him, then he will be unclean seven days and any bed he lies on will be unclean.

25 "'When a woman's discharge of blood flows many days not at the time of her menstruation, or if it flows beyond the time of her menstruation, all the days of her discharge of impurity will be like the days of her menstruation— she is unclean.

26 Any bed she lies on all the days of her discharge will be to her like the bed of her menstruation, any furniture she sits on will be unclean like the impurity of her menstruation,

27 and anyone who touches them will be unclean, and he must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

28 "'If she becomes clean from her discharge, then she is to count off for herself seven days, and afterward she will be clean.

29 Then on the eighth day she must take for herself two turtledoves or two young pigeons and she must bring them to the priest at the entrance of the Meeting Tent,

30 and the priest is to make one a sin offering and the other a burnt offering. So the priest is to make atonement for her before the LORD from her discharge of impurity.

31 "'Thus you are to set the Israelites apart from their impurity so that they do not die in their impurity by defiling my tabernacle which is in their midst.

32 This is the law of the one with a discharge: the one who has a seminal emission and becomes unclean by it,

33 the one who is sick in her menstruation, the one with a discharge, whether male or female, and a man who has sexual intercourse with an unclean woman.'"

2 Speak ^H1696 unto ^H413 ^PREP the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 , and say ^H559 unto ^H413 ^PREP them , When ^H3588 ^CONJ any man ^H376 ^NMS hath ^H1961 ^VQY3MS a running issue ^H2100 out of his flesh ^H1320 ^M-CMS-3MS , because of his issue ^H2101 he ^H1931 ^PPRO-3MS is unclean ^H2931 .

3 And this ^H2063 shall be ^H1961 ^VQY3FS his uncleanness ^H2932 in his issue ^H2101 : whether his flesh ^H1320 ^CMS-3MS run ^H7325 with ^H854 ^PREP his issue ^H2101 , or ^H176 ^CONJ his flesh ^H1320 ^CMS-3MS be stopped ^H2856 from his issue ^H2101 , it ^H1931 ^PPRO-3FS is his uncleanness ^H2932 .

4 Every ^H3605 ^NMS bed ^H4904 , whereon ^H834 ^RPRO he lieth ^H7901 ^VQY3MS that hath the issue ^H2100 , is unclean ^H2930 : and every ^H3605 ^NMS thing ^H3627 , whereon ^H834 ^RPRO he sitteth ^H3427 , shall be unclean ^H2930 .

5 And whosoever ^H376 ^W-NMS toucheth ^H5060 ^VQY3MS his bed ^H4904 shall wash ^H3526 his clothes ^H899 , and bathe ^H7364 himself in water ^H4325 ^BD-NMP , and be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

6 And he that sitteth ^H3427 on ^H5921 ^PREP-3MS any thing ^H3627 whereon ^H834 ^RPRO he sat ^H3427 that hath the issue ^H2100 shall wash ^H3526 his clothes ^H899 , and bathe ^H7364 himself in water ^H4325 ^BD-NMP , and be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

7 And he that toucheth ^H5060 the flesh ^H1320 of him that hath the issue ^H2100 shall wash ^H3526 his clothes ^H899 , and bathe ^H7364 himself in water ^H4325 ^BD-NMP , and be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

8 And if ^H3588 he that hath the issue ^H2100 spit ^H7556 upon him that is clean ^H2889 ; then he shall wash ^H3526 his clothes ^H899 , and bathe ^H7364 himself in water ^H4325 ^BD-NMP , and be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

9 And what saddle soever ^H3605 ^W-CMS he rideth ^H7392 upon ^H5921 ^PREP-3MS that hath the issue ^H2100 shall be unclean ^H2930 .

10 And whosoever ^H3605 ^W-CMS toucheth ^H5060 any thing ^H3605 that ^H834 ^RPRO was ^H1961 ^VQY3MS under ^H8478 him shall be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 : and he that beareth ^H5375 any of those things shall wash ^H3526 his clothes ^H899 , and bathe ^H7364 himself in water ^H4325 ^BD-NMP , and be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

11 And whomsoever ^H834 ^RPRO he toucheth ^H5060 ^VQY3MS that hath the issue ^H2100 , and hath not ^H3808 ^NADV rinsed ^H7857 his hands ^H3027 ^W-CFD-3MS in water ^H4325 , he shall wash ^H3526 his clothes ^H899 , and bathe ^H7364 himself in water ^H4325 ^BD-NMP , and be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

12 And the vessel ^H3627 of earth ^H2789 ^NMS , that ^H834 ^RPRO he toucheth ^H5060 ^VQY3MS which hath the issue ^H2100 , shall be broken ^H7665 : and every ^H3605 ^W-CMS vessel ^H3627 ^CMS of wood ^H6086 ^NMS shall be rinsed ^H7857 in water ^H4325 .

13 And when ^H3588 he that hath an issue ^H2100 is cleansed ^H2891 ^VQY3MS of his issue ^H2101 ; then he shall number ^H5608 to himself seven ^H7651 ^RMS days ^H3117 ^NMP for his cleansing ^H2893 , and wash ^H3526 his clothes ^H899 , and bathe ^H7364 his flesh ^H1320 ^CMS-3MS in running ^H2416 ^NMP water ^H4325 , and shall be clean ^H2891 .

14 And on the eighth ^H8066 day ^H3117 he shall take ^H3947 to him two ^H8147 ^ONUM turtledoves ^H8449 , or ^H176 ^CONJ two ^H8147 ^ONUM young ^H1121 pigeons ^H3123 , and come ^H935 before ^H6440 ^L-CMP the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS unto ^H413 ^PREP the door ^H6607 ^CMS of the tabernacle ^H168 ^NMS of the congregation ^H4150 ^NMS , and give ^H5414 them unto ^H413 ^PREP the priest ^H3548 :

15 And the priest ^H3548 shall offer ^H6213 ^W-VQQ3MS them , the one ^H259 ^MMS for a sin offering ^H2403 ^CFS , and the other ^H259 for a burnt offering ^H5930 ; and the priest ^H3548 shall make an atonement ^H3722 for ^H5921 ^PREP-3MS him before ^H6440 ^L-CMP the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS for his issue ^H2101 .

16 And if ^H3588 ^CONJ any man ^H376 ^W-NMS \'s seed ^H2233 of copulation ^H7902 go out ^H3318 from ^H4480 ^M-PREP-3MS him , then he shall wash ^H7364 all ^H3605 ^NMS his flesh ^H1320 ^CMS-3MS in water ^H4325 ^BD-NMP , and be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

17 And every ^H3605 ^W-CMS garment ^H899 , and every ^H3605 ^W-CMS skin ^H5785 ^NMS , whereon ^H834 ^RPRO is ^H1961 ^VQY3MS the seed ^H2233 of copulation ^H7902 , shall be washed ^H3526 with water ^H4325 ^BD-NMP , and be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

18 The woman ^H802 also with whom ^H834 ^RPRO man ^H376 ^NMS shall lie ^H7901 ^VQY3MS with seed ^H2233 of copulation ^H7902 , they shall both bathe ^H7364 themselves in water ^H4325 , and be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

19 And if ^H3588 ^CONJ a woman ^H802 have ^H1961 an issue ^H2100 , and her issue ^H2101 in her flesh ^H1320 be ^H1961 ^VQY3MS blood ^H1818 ^NMS , she shall be ^H1961 ^VQY3FS put apart ^H5079 seven ^H7651 ^RMS days ^H3117 ^NMP : and whosoever ^H3605 ^W-CMS toucheth ^H5060 her shall be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

20 And every thing ^H3605 ^W-CMS that ^H834 ^RPRO she lieth ^H7901 upon ^H5921 ^PREP-3MS in her separation ^H5079 shall be unclean ^H2930 : every thing ^H3605 ^W-CMS also that ^H834 ^RPRO she sitteth ^H3427 upon ^H5921 ^PREP-3MS shall be unclean ^H2930 .

21 And whosoever ^H3605 ^W-CMS toucheth ^H5060 her bed ^H4904 shall wash ^H3526 his clothes ^H899 , and bathe ^H7364 himself in water ^H4325 ^BD-NMP , and be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

22 And whosoever ^H3605 ^W-CMS toucheth ^H5060 any ^H3605 ^B-CMS thing ^H3627 ^CMS that ^H834 ^RPRO she sat ^H3427 upon ^H5921 ^PREP-3MS shall wash ^H3526 his clothes ^H899 , and bathe ^H7364 himself in water ^H4325 ^BD-NMP , and be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

23 And if ^H518 ^W-PART it ^H1931 ^PPRO-3MS be on ^H5921 ^PREP-3MS her bed ^H4904 , or ^H176 ^CONJ on ^H5921 ^PREP-3MS any thing ^H3627 whereon ^H834 ^RPRO she ^H1931 ^PPRO-3FS sitteth ^H3427 , when he toucheth ^H5060 it , he shall be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

24 And if ^H518 ^W-PART any man ^H376 ^NMS lie with her at all ^H7901 , and her flowers ^H5079 be ^H1961 ^W-VQI3FS upon ^H5921 ^PREP-3MS him , he shall be unclean ^H2930 seven ^H7651 ^RMS days ^H3117 ^NMP ; and all ^H3605 ^W-CMS the bed ^H4904 whereon ^H834 ^RPRO he lieth ^H7901 ^VQY3MS shall be unclean ^H2930 .

25 And if ^H3588 ^CONJ a woman ^H802 have an issue ^H2100 of her blood ^H1818 many ^H7227 ^AMP days ^H3117 ^NMP out of ^H3808 ^B-NPAR the time ^H6256 of her separation ^H5079 , or ^H176 ^CONJ if ^H3588 ^CONJ it run ^H2100 beyond ^H5921 ^PREP the time of her separation ^H5079 ; all ^H3605 ^NMS the days ^H3117 ^CMP of the issue ^H2101 of her uncleanness ^H2932 shall be ^H1961 ^VQY3FS as the days ^H3117 ^K-CMP of her separation ^H5079 : she ^H1931 ^PPRO-3FS shall be unclean ^H2931 .

26 Every ^H3605 ^NMS bed ^H4904 whereon ^H834 ^RPRO she lieth ^H7901 all ^H3605 ^NMS the days ^H3117 ^CMP of her issue ^H2101 shall be ^H1961 ^VQY3MS unto her as the bed ^H4904 of her separation ^H5079 : and whatsoever ^H3605 ^NMS she sitteth ^H3427 upon ^H834 ^RPRO shall be ^H1961 ^VQY3MS unclean ^H2931 , as the uncleanness ^H2932 of her separation ^H5079 .

27 And whosoever ^H3605 ^W-CMS toucheth ^H5060 those things shall be unclean ^H2930 , and shall wash ^H3526 his clothes ^H899 , and bathe ^H7364 himself in water ^H4325 ^BD-NMP , and be unclean ^H2930 until ^H5704 ^PREP the even ^H6153 .

28 But if ^H518 she be cleansed ^H2891 of her issue ^H2101 , then she shall number ^H5608 to herself seven ^H7651 ^RMS days ^H3117 ^NMP , and after that ^H310 ^W-ADV she shall be clean ^H2891 .

29 And on the eighth ^H8066 day ^H3117 she shall take ^H3947 unto her two ^H8147 ^ONUM turtles ^H8449 , or ^H176 ^CONJ two ^H8147 ^ONUM young ^H1121 pigeons ^H3123 , and bring ^H935 them unto ^H413 ^PREP the priest ^H3548 , to ^H413 ^PREP the door ^H6607 ^CMS of the tabernacle ^H168 ^NMS of the congregation ^H4150 .

30 And the priest ^H3548 shall offer ^H6213 ^W-VQQ3MS the one ^H259 for a sin offering ^H2403 ^CFS , and the other ^H259 for a burnt offering ^H5930 ; and the priest ^H3548 shall make an atonement ^H3722 for ^H5921 ^PREP-3FS her before ^H6440 ^L-CMP the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS for the issue ^H2101 of her uncleanness ^H2932 .

31 Thus shall ye separate ^H5144 the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 from their uncleanness ^H2932 ; that they die ^H4191 ^VQY3MP not ^H3808 ^W-NPAR in their uncleanness ^H2932 , when they defile ^H2930 my tabernacle ^H4908 that ^H834 ^RPRO is among ^H8432 ^B-CMS-3MP them .

32 This ^H2063 ^DPRO is the law ^H8451 ^CFS of him that hath an issue ^H2100 , and of him whose ^H834 ^W-RPRO seed ^H7902 goeth ^H3318 from ^H4480 ^M-PREP-3MS him , and is defiled ^H2930 therewith ;

33 And of her that is sick ^H1739 of her flowers ^H5079 , and of him that hath an issue ^H2100 , of the man ^H2145 , and of the woman ^H5347 , and of him ^H376 that ^H834 ^RPRO lieth ^H7901 ^VQY3MS with ^H5973 ^PREP her that is unclean ^H2931 .
